You want one, don't you...

Think gallery wrapped canvas...
(for a visual, go here)

I think I'm in love!

BrooklynCanvascopy

One of the frustrations with gallery wrapped canvas is that you have to be very particular in which photo you select because it cuts off so much of the image once the canvas is wrapped around it's frame. This is why I love this idea so much... you can take ANY picture that you love and place it on one of these backgrounds and you'll see the full image every time. BRILLIANT!! I wish I could say that I came up with the idea all on my own... but I didn't. But I love the idea just the same! ;)

A day of learning...

I am about to share one of the most awe-inspiring days of my life! Just two days ago I had the opportunity to spend a day with a super fabulous photographer... Jessica Kettle. She is actually the very reason I went out and bought a camera and decided that this is what I want to do. So how excited was I when I heard that she was offering mentoring sessions for fellow photographers!!! We spent the day working on lighting, shooting in manual, composition (a huge eye-opener for me), posing, focusing, and photoshop editing. My goal is to master all of these things, obviously... but for now, enjoy a little taste of our day. And a huge "thank you" to Jen, my sister-in-law for posing like a rockstar in the chilly weather. Seriously love that girl!

I absolutely love this first shot... she is such a gorgeous girl!

This girl is not afraid of the camera... I love how her mouth is slightly open so perfectly like she's thinking, "yeah, I'm hot."

This was my first experience using backlight and I LOVE IT!! Makes for a much more interesting picture. I think I will have to use this technique a lot!

Believe it or not, we're in a parking garage for these last three shots. The lighting was so soft. This is why Jessica is so talented because she finds the most random places to take such amazing shots. I learned so much just from watching her and I appreciate her sharing her knowledge with me. Now let's just hope I can apply it!!

Thanks, Jessica, for such a fun day!

And are you wondering where I got the tu-tu from? Well... I made it... so easy and so inexpensive... I think every little girl should have one.

New Header & Logo

I know, I know, it's HUGE! I couldn't help myself. I don't know how long it's going to stay but I'm sure liking it for now. And loving my new logo... WAHOO! I'd love to hear what you think, unless you hate it then maybe not so much... ;)

Manual Practice

This is my first attempt to shoot in Manual since my class. And I'm so happy with the results! My husband used to work at Inkley's and so he's always been into photography and camera accesories and gadgets. When I showed him these he was super impressed! I think we may be onto something here...

My new found love...

This is my sweet little Samara in the cutest example of a Gallery Wrapped Canvas size 11x14. I am so excited about these, so much that I think I need more! It's such a fun and different way to display pictures... don't you think? And, of course, I will be offering them to all of you!

Manual Class

So I have to admit... I'm one of those that was shooting in AUTO... yep, you heard it straight from the woman herself. To be honest, I didn't know the first thing about manual until yesterday... I was so privileged to be able to attend a Manual Class taught by these two lovely ladies below. And can I just say... the world through my lens will never be the same!! I think this may be the start of a wonderful life for me and my little camera! And I have these two girls to thank!!

This amazing photographer is Marissa Vargason. You can see her work here.
We actually went to High School together but hadn't seen eachother for almost 10 years until yesterday. It was great to be able to see her again. I am so impressed with her talent. She is completely self-taught when it comes to manual and that in itself is inspiring!

These sample shots are some of my first pics shooting in manual... we practiced in shade and then in direct sunlight which is generally a photographer's nightmare.

Marissa2bw

It completely made a huge difference in my photos... especially the direct sunlight. I'm so excited to continue practicing this and exploring more types of lighting scenarios. Such a fun day!

Annie1

And this cute girl is Annie West {Sweet Yesterdays Photography}. She is also such an inspiring photographer... so creative, I mean really creative! You can view her work here.

Thanks, ladies, for all of your help and inspiration!

**Oh, and by the way, I wanted to mention that I have recently changed my prices and so if you're interested in receiving a price list feel free to email me and I'd be happy to send it your way!
